JOIN US IN KENT’S UNIQUE SANTA RUN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ALL YOUR FAVOURITE CHARITIES

Sunday November 30th - 11.30am
Folkestone Town Centre

"Come along and have some fun - run, jog or walk!"

The Channel Rotary Club from Folkestone invites you to take part in the only Santa Run in Kent. This is the fifth year we have run this unique event, which raises money for your own favourite charities as well as a charity chosen by Channel Rotary

Despite the weather last year’s run was a great success, with over £10,000 being raised for over 30 local charities including several thousand pounds much needed funds for our nominated charities, the Pilgrims Hospices in Kent and Cancer Research.

This takes the total money raised for Shepway good causes by Channel Rotary to over £100,000 in the past five years.

We will provide you with a free Santa outfit that is yours to keep. Everyone wears it on the day. You can, of course, decorate it, adjust its size and personalise it in any way you wish. There is even a prize for the best suit.

The aim is to have fun, see if we can reach our target of 1,000 Santas running along Folkestone seafront and raise lots of money for lots of charities. All we ask is that you raise sponsorship money for your run, keep 50% for the charity, school fund or organisation of your choice and donate the rest to Channel Rotary’s Santa Fund.

Entry is just £10 for adults and £5 for children under 12.

LETS MAKE 2008 THE BIGGEST YET!

The Run is approx 6km long starting in Folkestone Town Precinct and finishing on The Leas close to pubs, clubs and restaurants! There is also a separate Mini Run for 6-11 year olds. Details of the final route will be posted on this website nearer the time. Everyone gets a smart medal to prove they’ve done it! Plus there are Individual Prizes and a Team Prize for the keen runners. This year there will be an additional huge trophy – The Sports Club Challenge Trophy – to go to the winning team of four or more entrants from a sports club. Last year the ever popular gurkhas won the team prize so there is definitely someone worth beating.

This is an event for all ages and abilities and is a thoroughly enjoyable day for participants and spectators alike. As well as serious runners we welcome joggers and walkers too, we even accept dogs - with their owners of course. Taking place on the first shopping Sunday before Christmas makes it a real family occasion.
